The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry is an association of industrialists and businessmen of Bangladesh in general and Chattogram in particular. It consists of firms, companies and corporate bodies engaged in trade, commerce, industry, agriculture, manufacture etc. It was established in 1906, named as Chittagong Chamber of Commerce. At the initial stage the Chamber’s activities and its number of members were limited. It had no office, but official activities i.e., the meetings and even general meetings also were done at the residence or personal office of the President (CCCI) and any other influential Members of the Chittagong Chamber of commerce.

শ্রম ও কর্মসংস্থান মন্ত্রণালয়াধীন কলকারখানা ও প্রতিষ্ঠান পরিদর্শন অধিদপ্তর বাংলাদেশ শ্রম আইন, ২০০৬, এর বিধান অনুযায়ী  শ্রমিকদের কল্যাণ, পেশাগত স্বাস্থ্য ও কর্মক্ষেত্রে নিরাপত্তামূলক ব্যবস্থাসমূহ বাস্তবায়নসহ শ্রম ক্ষেত্রে শৃঙ্খলা সমুন্নত রেখে মালিক, শ্রমিক, সরকার ও বিভিন্ন আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থার সাথে সমন্বয়ের কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। ১৯৬৯ সনে তৎকালীন পাকিস্তান সরকারের  শ্রম নীতির আলোকে ও এয়ার ভাইস মার্শাল নূর খানের রিপোর্টের ভিত্তিতে শ্রম দপ্তরকে- (১) শ্রম পরিদপ্তর (২) কলকারখানা ও প্রতিষ্ঠান পরিদর্শন পরিদপ্তর এবং (৩) ট্রেড ইউনিয়ন রেজিষ্ট্রেশন পরিদপ্তর-এ তিনভাগে ভাগ করা হয়।
