CMA CGM announces surcharges from Far East

In response to the current situation in Beira, Mozambique, CMA CGM has announced the implementation of a Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS) effective from 22 December 2024.

This surcharge will apply to shipments originating from the Far East, including China, Hong Kong & Macau SAR, North East Asia, and South East Asia, and destined for Beira, Mozambique. The surcharge amount will be US$270 per TEU for all cargo types.

Moreover, the French carrier announced the implementation of a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) effective from 7 December 2024, until further notice. This surcharge will apply to reefer cargo originating from the Far East, including China, Hong Kong & Macau SAR, North East Asia, and South East Asia, and destined for Ecuador. The surcharge amount will be US$1,000 per container.
