  • Rule: No seafarer may be employed, joined, or processed for immigration without a valid employment contract.
  • Risk: Uncontracted joining can create serious legal and safety issues if the seafarer faces problems abroad.
  • Prohibited: Using any organization’s pad/letterhead/signature to facilitate joining without contract, including for unofficial benefit.

Dear Sir,

It has come to our attention that, in some cases, intermediaries may attempt to facilitate seafarer joining and immigration formalities without valid employment contracts, including misuse of letterheads and signatures for unofficial benefit. Such practices may place seafarers at serious risk and may create significant legal, operational, and reputational harm.

Strict Compliance Notice
All parties are requested to refrain from any involvement in seafarer employment, joining, documentation, or immigration processing unless a proper, legally valid contract is in place.
